A New Global Benchmark for Label Printing
Sentinel is proud to congratulate Moquin Press on an extraordinary pressroom achievement: producing 464,333 net sellable sheets in a single 24-hour period.
The record-breaking performance established a new global benchmark for label printing and marked the second time Moquin Press has claimed the world performance title.
Based in Belmont, California, Moquin Press is a leading West Coast provider of folding cartons and cut-and-stack labels. Its latest record surpassed the company’s previous mark of 452,755 net sheets, set in 2024.
Technology and Expertise Working Together
The record was achieved using 60-lb. C1S label stock on Moquin’s HEIDELBERG Speedmaster XL 106, a seven-color press with inline coating engineered specifically for high-volume label production.
Supporting the press were Sentinel iPro automated ink management systems, which helped minimize operator intervention and maintain production momentum throughout the demanding 24-hour run.
“To achieve our goal, we utilized our HEIDELBERG running the Sentinel ink systems,” said Bryan Moquin, Chief Business Operator at Moquin Press. “The system frees up our operators to focus entirely on running the press.”
Sentinel’s iPro technology uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor ink fountain levels and automatically deliver ink as needed. By reducing the need to stop and manually check or refill fountains, the system allows operators to concentrate on press performance, quality, and consistency.
“The Sentinels allow me to be efficient with press operators,” said Daniel Robertson, Pressroom Manager at Moquin Press. “I don’t need to have a dedicated feeder, running back and forth, scooping ink in the fountains all day long. With the systems, it’s fair to say we don’t run out of ink.”
When an ink canister runs low, the iPro system alerts the operator. A replacement canister can be installed in as little as 10 seconds, helping keep the press running during extended production periods when every minute counts.

Record-Breaking Speed Without Sacrificing Quality
Moquin’s accomplishment was about more than production speed. Throughout the record-breaking run, the company maintained a tight Delta E color variance of 2.8 while producing only 630 combined makeready and waste sheets.
Those results demonstrate that exceptional throughput, consistent color, and efficient material use can be achieved simultaneously when skilled operators are supported by the right pressroom technology.
